It's bad when the water company calls you to say you've been using so much water n they think there's a problem. But you have to tell them, nope, it's correct. It's been a brutally hot summer and the pond for the goats keeps drying up. Like every day.

Yesterday a delivery driver told me I had "a little slice of paradise ". I thanked him for the reminder. I really do.

It is pouring rain and thundering like mad. It's grand.

There was ONE ATC in the tower at LGA during last night's crash.

ONE ATC, at LGA!, dealing w ALL air and ground traffic, including a plane filling w a strange smell and no gate to return to.

The Pentagon wants $200B for a vanity war, but our ATC towers are empty.

Budgets are moral documents.

One of my goats has to be put down today. It's the right thing to do. I'm having my handyman do it as I can't bring myself to do it. I hate this.

My very happy giant puppy is in the kitchen, staring at the cat in my lap from a distance. Douglas, the cat, has Jeff completely cowed and doesn't actually have to do anything to control him.

Babe, wake up, new sarcastic but entirely worthwhile internet abbreviation just dropped
Over on threads someone just use ai;dr and we all need to adopt that right quick

It was a pretty, warm, sunny day today. First one in a while. I was able to get coverage so that I could leave an hour early and get a pedicure. Yay!
Also started teaching Tanner, my cover, how to use a crochet hook to make a chain. He'd purchased an amigurumi kit, a bit too advanced.

Nor ever forgive.

The fundamental social contract is broken. No action of this federal government is legitimate, and state officials like @governorwalz.mn.gov need to treat their interventions as presumptively hostile.
It's time to state clearly that if MAGA and Republicans can't condemn any part of this shooting, continue to blame the victim for it, and even hint that it's a just outcome that others "deserve," that's a crossing of the line that the rest of us won't ever be able to forget.
Rep. Randy Fine: "If you impede the actions of our law enforcement as they seek to repel foreign invaders from our country, you get what's coming to you. I do not feel bad for the woman that was involved."

As Trump tells the public not to trust their own eyes, voices across the military, law enforcement, and former ICE agents are calling this a murder.
This is exactly what I told someone yesterday.

Even if I spot you the first shot (I shouldn’t, but let’s go with that), shots 2 and 3 were inexcusable and this officer will lose his case if it ever goes to court.

It’s hard to believe a president would time an illegal military attack to distract the public’s attention, but today is the statutory deadline for DOJ to release its report on the Epstein file production. Maybe it is just a coincidence.

Anyone can read the redactions of the Epstein Files by just copying and pasting them into a word doc. The people at Trump's Justice Department are so stupid they used Adobe Acrobat to black out the documents.

I let Jeff in, and he started into the cats' cans and dish. Douglas came running in, back arched. Jeff immediately asked to go outside.

Internet, do your thing! Let's find Cookie Swirl!!
This is my friend's cat. Its name is Cookie Swirl, and it disappeared in the American section of Charlotte airport on 11/10. We're asking for your help. She doesn't have any other socials, so if you can post it widely to see if anyone knows where it is. It's a little thing, but matters a lot to her.

I hate taking dead people out of my phone. An old friend died yesterday and a new family member was born the day before. The world gives and takes.

At this point, every single journalist needs to have a simple one-sheet of the major news events that Mike Johnson and his toadies claim to have not seen, or know nothing about.

Like, hand it to them. "Okay, here. Take your time. I can wait." Call their bluff, ffs. This is absurd.
