The movie 'Robin Hood: Men In Tights', had the line: "Robin will be dead. D-E-D dead", where "dead" was meant to be spelled out for emphasis, but was misspelled for comedic effect. Thing is, "ded" was actually an acceptable spelling in Middle English. I wonder if the filmmakers knew that.
