Clinical Psychologist. Davidson College associate professor. Dinosaur enthusiast. I would like to hold your baby.
I have a syllabus Easter egg that gives extra credit (or a late pass for a response paper depending on the class) if students take a selfie in front of my office door and email it to me by the end of the first week of classes. Office hours visits went up bc they knew where I was! And saw the snacks.

Friday afternoon course prep for the week ahead. Plan grading and mindless tasks for the time between classes on the days you teach (ahead of time so you don’t habe to decide in the moment). Go outside between classes, even just a lap around the outside of the building.

This is excellent! You can also do this with “Concatenate” in an Excel spreadsheet if that’s how you’re doing the grading itself, and upload that cell as the “feedback” for the assignment in whatever LMS you use.

Do you know about using the size and position dialog box in PowerPoint to make your poster elements perfectly sized and aligned because it is my favorite and I try to evangelize it to all my students.

This is a *phenomenal* article and I can’t wait to put it on the syllabus the next time I teach abnormal psych.
