Slept in a glorified body bag on the Malvern Hills on Friday night. Not really sure how I managed nearly 8 hours of kip including oversleeping past sunrise. I'm not going to be using this thing regularly though.

It would be irresponsible of me to recommend going camping in the depths of a massive forest with a bloke you met on Facebook, but on this occasion I wasn't murdered.

My wife and daughter were away at the weekend. I had time to myself to mooch about my local area. I’ve been treated to some glorious Herefordshire scenery on walks in Mordiford and Cefn Hill. I find the word ‘staycation’ pretty patronising, but sometimes you really don't need to travel far.

An escape without disappearing. Leaving home at my daughter Molly’s bedtime, driving to a Welsh mountain, walking, wild camping and returning home at breakfast. Molly was none-the wiser that Dadda had been gone, or that he had a memorable adventure while she was asleep.

Been busy since my last visit. I walked a 27 mile trail round Gloucester in a day, followed a river from source to confluence over 39 miles with camping gear in two days, camped in the woods and walked to (a bit of) the Berlin Wall and celebrated my daughter's 2nd birthday. Life is good.

Been busy since my last visit. I walked a 27 mile trail round Gloucester in a day, followed a river from source to confluence over 39 miles with camping gear in two days, camped in the woods and walked to (a bit of) the Berlin Wall and celebrated my daughter's 2nd birthday. Life is good.
A glorious family walk in the Forest of Dean yesterday. We did the Lower Soudley and Soudley Ponds Circular. Pretty painful carrying young un up steep banks with already blistered feet, but it was worth it for the views.

On Friday, the Midlife Crisis Walking Club completed a 22.5 mile walk from Ledbury to Worcester, including the Ledmal 3 route from @slowwaysuk.bsky.social and the St Wulfstan Day Way pilgrimage from Malvern Priory to Worcester Cathedral. We all had a lovely time apart from the blisters.

On Saturday, me and a few mates walked a muddy but glorious 17 miles from Ledbury to Hereford along the Herled Two route from @slowwaysuk.bsky.social. A superb day out. Highly recommend getting your friends out for this sort of thing.

Forgot to share our picture with Bertie in Amroth on our leg of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path last weekend. Young un Molly will hopefully grow up with a love for the countryside and the planet. I'm carrying her around enough of it FFS. #CleanSeas

A good weekend. Drinks in Hereford, the first world problem of having to make Aperol Spritz with Stowford Press instead of prosecco, a class walk on the beautiful/strange place that is Hergest Ridge, and a barbeque with horse riding. These are largely Tory shenanigans for sure, but it was decent.

I've got a bad feeling about Rovers today and it's a must win or we're fucked. Looking forward to it. 🥴

Dartmoor again. Legal wild camping definitely feels a lot more chilled than hiding in the depths of the woods hoping some Karen dog walker doesn't see you and report you. This is magic. #RightToRoam
