This scarf worked up so fast. Love the Malabrigo Rios Jupiter yarn. #Crocheted this scarf lengthwise which always works up faster.

28 days since my last post…Oh No! In that time, I’ve finished one pink scarf using the Malabrigo Arroyo Rosalinda yarn with pompoms. I know, it’s like I’ve just discovered the world of pompoms. In the meantime, starting a second scarf on my little Cricket loom using Boss Kitty’s Rose Quartz merino.

Finished #weaving a scarf with vareigated yarn from #FionaKayKnits, Dive Bar and Nostalgia. Love, love, love the turquoise fringe. The warp color tones down the black-red-turquoise of the weft and that’s okay with me.

#Crocheted a quick bandanna. Used a sock weight yarn (Legends Never Die) from #FionaKayKnits. Lovely drape. Harkens me back to the early 70’s. Best thing is the pup under my table. Mr. Sidney Australia.

Had to see Malabrigo Arroyo Whales Road yarn #crocheted in all its glory. Had 3 skeins of this, but this particular skein had a different dye lot and so used it for this one skein scarf with a twisted fringe. Need more practice on evening out the length of each fringe strand, but still am pleased.

Another experiment with variegated yarn…this #crochet scarf was done entirely in variegated yarn lengthwise. The yarn—Malabrigo Rios Aries, a beautiful bronze color that was a pleasure to work with.

Finished another variegated experiment. Used the popular moss stitch to create blocks of color and variegated yarn. Topped it off with blue Pom-poms. Used Tosh DK and Bad Sheep DK Kennicott and Big Blue Next Thing. So much fun!

Working on this #crochet scarf using Purple Haze from Berroco Gianna. Like crocheting with a cloud. Also wanted to see how a vareigated yarn reacts with long stripes. More colorful than I expected. And it creates stripes that are the same length as the scarf. How handy!

Finished #crocheting my pillow cover. Using up my Ultra Pima yarn, & using variegated yarn obtained on the Rose City Yarn Crawl—Serpentine Priestess (Ritual Dyes) and Malabrigo’s Rios Pisces Zodiac. Learning best uses of variegated yarn. I like the orange in the center, looks like it’s glowing.

Had a great time at Vancouver’s No Kings Rally. Met wonderful people. Didn’t know we’d be marching to the Columbia River. Glad I charged up my scooter the night before. Yes, that’s me wearing my Melt The Ice cap I crocheted, and my sign on the back sidewalk before the crowds came.

Headed out to the #NoKings rally in Vancouver in a few. Excited to be with my people to protest against the actions of a corrupt and lawless President.

Created a #crochet headband with Malabrigo’s Seis Cabos Indiecita yarn and Cascade Ultra Pima. A small project so I can learn the wily ways of variegated yarn. I’m such a matchy-matchy girl and it’s hard to break out of that.

Managed to do four Portland yarn stores today (Weird Sisters, Close Knit, Ritual Dyes, and Fiber Rhythm), and turned in my stamped passport. Here’s the last of my Rose City Yarn Crawl yarn. WooHoo!

Day 2 of the Rose City Yarn Crawl and here is my yarn haul for today. Visited Knotty Lamb (Forest Grove), For Yarn’s Sake (Beaverton), and Northwest Wools (Portland). Met so many nice ladies. Met so many nice yarns.

The 2026 Rose City Yarn Crawl started today. Visited Hook and Needle (Vancouver) and Starlight Knitting Society (Portland). So much fun! Below is my haul for the day. Tomorrow I hit three more yarn stores.

Started #crocheting a Melt the Ice red hat. Hope to finish a few of these for the March 28th No Kings March. I see there is also a Stitch to Resist meeting for knitters and crocheters that I’ll be attending, www.mobilize.us/mobilize/eve...

Finished #weaving my scarf today. Added a twisted fringe that’s the same color as the warp.

Such a relaxing process!

Putting aside my crochet for awhile to #weave a new scarf. Using a nice purple, King’s Court (Eclipse Knits), for the warp, & Wild Blueberry (Bad Sheep Yarn) for the weft. Both yarns are superwash merino/nylon. Will be interesting to see how this turns out as I let Wild Blueberry do its thang.

Disappointed in the relatively tepid Dem response (with a few exceptions) to Trump’s lawlessness in blue cities. Not looking for an Obama Jesus. Just someone who can use their brains for Good.

Started another afghan without a single granny square. Using up all the cool color singletons. This one is for my daughter who is going through a rough time right now. Hope to finish by fall.
January 21, 2026 at 10:51 PM
Needed to clear my mind this week after the big push to finish my square a week afghan and so have been #crocheting dishcloths. Love that you can finish in mere hours. Now to crochet a box or two to hold my yarn!
January 9, 2026 at 10:53 PM
A project that caught my eye in May and finished today. Doing a square a week competed with doing a border. Learned several techniques I hadn’t run across. Expanded my crochet library. Recording the good and bad is hard. Two days to recoup artsy energy. 2025 you were a mixed bag. #crochet

Finished attaching the corners and borders on my afghan. Now comes the blocking and steaming the finished piece. Oh, the excitement!

This week’s #crochet square is the last square for this afghan: Thank You. It’s a pattern by Janie Crow/Crowfoot. Opened my eyes with her techniques, her color palette, amazing. So thank you, thank you, thank you. Now, onto finishing this up before New Years!

Sidney under the tree. All my dogs seem to really like the tree skirt my mom made.
