Just as a private equity firm buys out a corporation and strips it for parts, a consultant class is raiding the Democratic Party and getting “generationally wealthy” along the way

How the Consulting Class Is Eating the Democratic Party
Fundraising costs gobble up most of the funds raised. Billions are spent on TV ads that have virtually no impact. Candidates may win or lose—but the consulting class always wins.

A year ago, @propublica.org told you immigration agents had detained more than 170 U.S. citizens.

We’ve updated our count, and we’ve got all the receipts.

The tally: At least 506 citizens detained. Sometimes held at gunpoint, handcuffed, or even deported.

After realizing their mistake, the agents left the teen alone in the woods, with no way to get home.

Then they threw his ID out of the truck.

This is exactly what's wrong with the tech industry, which my work intersects. It seeks people willing to see their jobs as a collection of preset, repeatable, tasks. This mindset views talent, creativity, and natural ability as impediments, not virtues. Tech values dronedom.
I am talking about working with people to even conceive of their lives as a set of tasks — that isn’t exactly natural and isn’t something we train people to do and yet its a precondition for figuring out what an agent would even *do*.

The media assignment is very straightforward and clear: Can you find, in the coming months, some of these 750,000 people and interview them?

According to Vance, they're probably all "fake" because anyone who buys a health plan and then doesn't file claims is obviously not someone who really exists.
It’s surreal to see federal officials take a victory lap today for cancelling hundreds of thousands of marketplace enrollments, while massive health coverage losses are underway.

Again for those in the cheap seats. Gavin Newsom is an owned and operated subsidiary of the powerful. He puts a center-left wash on oligarchy. That's what he considers his job.
This man straight-up gotta be some kinda Kristen Sinema spoiler-type plant or something.
The State AGs were on pace to kill the Paramount/Warner Bros by litigation and delay until Gavin Newsom stepped in and turned the tide. Now the Trump loyalist Ellisons will control CNN and HBO. Don't ever, ever forget that Newsom stabbed us in the back
