what's the fucking point if we aren't going into our relationships seeking to be more earnest, more vulnerable, & more supportive? i don't want to perform friendship, i want to be friends. i want to show up for people. i want to be close with them. we should strive to love one another more each day.

they got rid of the reference help and library help desks so they wouldnt have to staff them. the functions of those desks got offloaded onto the loan desk as well as a live chat and appointment system.
but then they got tired of paying people to monitor the chat so now they make you do it on desk.

library administration runs this place like a neoliberal democracy (steadily draining funding and support for services until resources are spread so thin that the services can't operate effectively, causing usage and satisfaction to drop, then using that as a justification to cut them entirely)
