Just when I thought God of War (2018) had little more to give thematically, it just keeps going and grows beyond its simple “sad, bad dad reckons with his actions through parenthood” into “we cannot control our children, but only guide them to be the best they can be”.

I just posted my review, but I will add this.
The Don’t Look Up of Asteroid City’s (yes, that does mean I think it’s better than DLU)

Look, all I’m saying is that so long as I laugh more than Don’t Look Up, I won’t mind.

Digger is a strange, interesting, funny enough satire, that works way more when Iñárritu hones in the devastating ironies of society’s difficulty with change, and art’s relationship to that irony, though it doesn’t hit that quite enough, making it feel a bit too miscalculated to truly soar.

Apparently there are two ways you can break a habit of an everyday mental breakdown at work.
You can either take time off…
…or you can do an 8 hour solo rendition the “fuck” scene from The Wire because everyone else is taking time off.

…has Insta Reels been reading the script I started writing today and decided it was a good idea to throw all of my issues/everything I’m having a breakdown about at the moment at me in reel form? Because shit is getting way too real and familiar.

Seeing this in D-Box is a really great way to highlight how much of this film is shockingly drama and character driven, as opposed to a menagerie of set pieces. Kind of still astounding, yet weighed down by the following 7 years, and particularly overshadowed by Doomsday in ways. Still great!
Look, regardless of how I feel about this Encore rerelease, I’m not mad about seeing Endgame in a cinema again, and especially in D-Box!

All I’m saying is Qantas cold calling me to say that they owed me (rather my mum) money, from a flight 5 years ago, in this cyber climate, is one way to get my blood pressure to spike and instantly send up red flags!

I’m sorry, but I am absolutely obsessed with just how horrific Aaron Sorkin’s spray tan at the Social Reckoning premier is. It feels like a hate crime. Like this is a real social reckoning!

Fuck man, I know I’m at this stage, but it feels weird that every second post I see on Facebook or Insta from people I knew in school is about them having kids. Like…what the fuck!?

Look, all I’m saying is that Silent Hill: Townfall being “what if Silent Hill was Alien: Isolation” is kinda brilliant and I really love how we can have all different approaches to designing a Silent Hill game.
