How about if Democratic candidates just answer " This is the GOP again trying to stoke culture wars which have nothing to do with the price of gas, groceries, or housing, so I am not going to engage in their BS. I think most people are worried about what happens in their own households."

The problem I fear is not a handful of socialists winning a few elections. That’s Democracy.
It’s that 92% of Dems, many in swing districts, must spend time/money saying “I’m not a socialist,” when they should be focused only on Trump’s corruption 3 months before the election.

The politicization of expertise is a problem, especially with a "genocide scholars" organization that's open to anyone who pays to join it and issues resolutions that are voted on by that membership.

No, a small number of young people who live on their phones and don't know what "genocide" means have decided that this is more important than stopping an authoritarian takeover of the United States.
But they can see Israel's genocide on their phones and ask why our government and its leaders support it.
The overwhelming majority of voters couldn't find Gaza on a map or explain anything about it in any way that would hold water for five seconds if their lives depended on it. Half of the people in this country can't name the three branches of government, FFS.

Again, without being pro or con either Mills or Platner: If the only criterion was "Collins must go and Maine must be a vote against Trump in the Senate," then the former governor was just as good a choice as a political neophyte with baggage. Electability would be all that matters.
Regarding Platner, not a stellar candidate, but Collins must go. Maine had time to vet candidates; too late to switch horses now. They need to vote her out & deal with any trouble later. Senatorial votes affect all of us. Her votes have cost us dearly. She has more strikes against her atm than he.
