I think something sports haters don't get when they say sports are fake and meaningless is being a fan is kind is like joining a large tabletop rpg. Pick a team and you get a premade role and backstory and a relationship to fans of other teams, and a regular stream of new material to interact about

Mandami is picking winnable fights and killing it with productive, economically-beneficial outcomes. Thats smart. He seems to know that, in a city the size and scale of NYC, even small smart moves generate HUGE benefits. There is no shortage of these in NYC. His predecessors’ inadequacies left many.

Here's the thing: it's pretty simple to look at @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social or @katmabu.bsky.social & realize that the core of what people want right now is really simple - get tangible stuff done. Show us. Don't write a press release about it. Just make the damn community better. That's it.
