One of my formative moments 70 years ago: my dad and I walked to a parade route when I was 4. Suddenly dad jumped up to push a stalled float down the road. Not knowing what was happening, I was terrified thinking I was abandoned. The lesson never left me. It's ok. We always jump up to help others.

Too many people online seem to conflate left politics with being obnoxious and scathing and Mamdani is such a model for combining a principled ideological vision with civility and grace. You shake hands, you act like a grown up even whether others aren’t. You show up.

Aside from the blatant illegality here, you’ll get this right after your tariff dividend, your freedom dividend, Trump’s health care plan, and your $2 gas
Trump: "We're making a fortune. So if the Republicans win, you win with us and you get $5,000. It will be called the Trump Dividend. Congratulations."

Trump just posted a map showing Canada, Greenland, and Mexico as part of the United States.

He’s f*king insane.

Carl Sagan was a genius, for goodness sake
Gloria Steinem has passed away. Long ago, my parents used to force me to go to church each Sunday. One time the pastor made a comment about "people who were destroying America, like Carl Sagan and Gloria Steinem."

I liked Carl Sagan.

Gloria Steinem was new to me.

I took it as a recommendation.

In the midst of an awful lot of ever-so-sophisticated equivocating and oh-so-thoughtful-chin-stroking and too-clever-by-half-over-thinking, I just want to say, simply and unequivocally and for the record:

The Resistance Libs Were Right.

The president of the United States is doing his level best today to promote my Substack article from yesterday about his being psychotic.

Thank you, Sir!!

Troops speaking out against their deployments to our cities are right: The National Guard should be used for real emergencies like natural disaster relief, not as political pawns for the president.
In candid interviews, National Guard members speak out about D.C. deployment
As President Trump's deployment of the National Guard to Washington, D.C., enters its second year, three guard members who served many months on the mission share their reactions with NPR.

NEWSMAX: What is your confidence level in Darline Graham when it comes to national security?

REP. TIMMONS: Darline knows what it's like going through food line checkout. This is silly for us to talk about Taiwan. The position is very simple -- she needs to support the president
