Banning/blocking VPNs will cripple big business, at least here in Australia, so that's very unlikely to happen.
And there's plenty of countries who don't have this legislation in the pipeline, so I reckon I'll be fine.

Australian here. Already got a cheap overseas VPS with Wireguard running and policy based routing on my router ready to go, be stuffed if my family and I are going to be part of this.

If parents parented in the first place, there wouldn't be issues. Asking some of them to do more is like screaming into the void.
And before anyone goes 'you don't have kids, you don't know what it's like', I have two kids, neither of them have addictions or issues, but plenty of their mates do.

They're bringing this in, in Australia. I decide how to keep my child safe thanks, and it sure as shit isn't handing over my ID to a company which will be breached or used against me.
