The Whispering Dark by Kelly Andrew has a really, really well-integrated deaf character. Like everything within her backstory and who she is contributes to the story.

Reading Blind Man's Bluff and 1) makes me think of some deafies I've met who limit things they do because their deafness makes it hard to socialize 2) it's also giving me so much secondhand embarrassment for JT. The poor kid fell off stage at his graduation!

There is a player on the LA Queens, Brittany Apgar, who has a limb difference and traveled back to Illinois from receiving her first ever batting prosthetic *today* and is 3-for-3 in her first game playing with one. Incredibly cool.

Got a Japanese volume of FMA and it's fascinating to see the differences:
* size (Japanese is smaller)
* Japanese has a cover, American does not
* The "in memoriam" comics are on the spine on the inside book, and there's also comics on front and back (which all went inside for the translation)

Went to this sushi place not far from my hotel for dinner last night, happened to look up more reviews on it today. Apparently that place has a reputation for hating foreigners but they seemed really friendly with me when I went. Guess I got lucky

Went to a parking lot party that promised 45+ vendors, face painting, a bouncy castle and other stuff. Ended up being like 10-15 vendors there and no face painting but you can tell they were prepared for more. How did 2/3s of people flake out?!
