Of course they won't, English politicians continue to be terrified of upsetting the ultra right thugs.

Comparing what Dolly Parton did with her wealth and influence to people like Musk, Bezos etc makes me feel sick.

What a world we could have if more people were even a fraction like her.

Thank you Dolly, for the music and for the wonderful example.

The arrogance of people who ignore laws they think are wrong!

We have a system for changing things we disagree with. Vote, lobby, campaign. But in the meantime obey the fecking law!
I’ll admit it: I’ve cycled through red lights. But Britain’s traffic laws are to blame, not me | Simon Jenkins
The essence of cycling is to keep moving, but London’s chaotic roads often make this difficult. My solution: fewer, not more rules, says Guardian columnist Simon Jenkins

1. You attempted to lift your leg, but I am the weight of 10,000 dying suns, & I will not be disturbed. You will perish here.

2. You moved your ankle 1/10000th of an inch. I am leaving immediately. You've offended not only me but my ancestors.

Imagine pouring petrol all over the place and the government’s response was to…ban matches.
Yes, we need to ban disposable BBQs but if that’s the sum total of the emergemcy meeting that’s pathetic! It’s like announcing a boost to the NHS by buying a box of plasters!

I love this story! In an ideal world it would be totally unnecessary. In the world we live in, it's both pragmatic and romantic.

Govt planning c. 100 new data centres by early 2030s, mostly in already water stressed areas. They have no legal obligation to disclose how much water they use. Meanwhile Govt launches £75m publicity campaign to urge us to reduce water use & privatised water companies waste 19% thro leaks. Madness

Half of the country is in "exceptionally serious drought" - putting us at more risk of wildfires and threatening our food security.

Meanwhile water companies are wasting a staggering 2.87 billion litres of water every day through leaky pipes.

Time to end water privatisation.

Their national poll rating is 26% – below Labour in 1983 – and Farage’s approval rating is -37.

They’re very far from the voice of the people and need to stop being treated as such.

His response?

To demand an end to the antisemitic targeting of Polanski?

No. It’s to attack the Green Party.
