Apparently today is Quicksand Day, so I decided to hop into Krita again real quick and list the steps I take when drawing mud... mostly so I don't forget half the steps every time I do it from now on lol

@mokai.bsky.social invited @concrocotta.bsky.social and his pokemon team to the beach for a surprise party, but the beach had a surprise for them... not that they mind, of course!
Five sunken beachgoers enjoying themselves. From left to right, Con the gryphon/phoenix, Mokai the decidueye, an arcanine, a charizard, and a lucario. The lucario is laughing at what can be assumed to be a remark Con just made, while the charizard appreciates it less and the arcanine is busy taking a nap. Mokai is a bit intrigued by the sand but isn't quite as used to it as the rest of the characters, blushing slightly.

Got this adorable little piece done by @tamorbil.bsky.social the other day and I love it lots! First sinking art I've gotten too. Thank you again for doing this and keep up the good work!

Small write-up in alt text too! :3c
A day at the beach can lead to all sorts of surprises and for Erin, today was no exception! It was a beautiful day. Sun was shining, waves crashed onto the beach. It was picturesque! The latex-clad fox couldn't pass up the opportunity to enjoy a quiet day to himself. The sand felt nice under his feet, warm and soft, but little did he know, it was about to get a lot softer! About half an hour into his little walk, the sand under his feet started to feel a bit softer until one leg plunged into a hidden trap. He stumbled, but caught himself. Tugging at his foot, he watched the surface of the sand give a slow, lazy ripple like water. Quicksand! Erin looked up and down the beach and when he was certain he was alone, took a full step into the hidden pit. The fox watched from above as both feet disappeared, his shins slowly sinking in as well. Under the surface, the quicksand felt cool and slipped between his toes. He was tempted to pump his legs to sink faster, but what was the rush? It was a nice day after all! Instead, he held still, listening to the ambiance around him as his legs were steadily enveloped in silky soft sand. He purred softly and wagged his tail he felt his lower body being pulled into a snug hug. Shins, then knees, then thighs slipped away. In a matter of moments, he felt the sand rolling over his hip and pressed a paw to the surface, quicksand oozing between his fingers as he let it sink under. The fox gave a soft huff as the sand claimed his hips, rolling over his waist and pulling in the base of his tail. Shifting from side to side sent more ripples through the surface. Erin purred softly, savoring the feeling of being hugged from all sides by the quicksand and settled in, resting his free paw at his side as he relaxed. He'd pull himself out at some point, but for now, he wanted to just take in and enjoy the moment, glad that his suit kept the sand from his fur!

Well, I don't have anything to describe this. It’s just that Minerva has just found herself in a muddy situation.

This is a remaster of my old drawing from 2023. I mean, seriously. I really llove her; she's one of my favorite characters.

Watch your step! Who knows how deep that mud goes...

(Sketch by @kibblekitt.bsky.social!)
Cecil the coyote in a bit of a predicament. He's wearing a cozy autumn sweater, jacket, and scarf, and has found himself starting to sink in deep mud. He's trying to pull a stuck boot out from the mud, while the mud tugs on his hind paw to suck him even further in. He's lost his glasses as well.

Looks like some Avali aren't afraid to get their feathers muddy, either! Too bad it looks like he's too occupied to appreciate the view or the geyser behind him, though...

Requested by anonymous
A blue, green, and grey-feathered avali is bathing in some waist-deep mud on the species' homeworld, Avalon. A lake of ice can be seen in the background, as well as an ammonia lake further back. A geyser erupts from the ice and snow falls from it as the water freezes midair. The planet Avalon orbits, Elysium, is barely visible behind the clouds as well. Barnacle-like creatures called Piru appear around the mud pit, and purple mushroom trees surround the ammonia lake.

Here are my two oldest colored muddy drawings, dating back to sometime in 2024. Thank goodness I stopped doing multicolored lineart after the first drawing, I am NOT good at that lol
A zeraora and a blaziken are stuck up to their waists in mud in a cave. The zeraora sheepishly puts its hands together and stares at the inking Escape Orb with a worried look on its face as the blaziken reaches for it. A zoroark and a cinderace are in waist-deep mud in a cave. They both look down at the mud holding them in place with a surprised look on their faces, as the cinderace attempts to push itself out with its hands and the zoroark wonders what to do.

I had to give a new look and redesign my LRQW Wolf "Lea." Honestly, I didn't really like the old design, so I decided to make some small changes. Now, with this new look, I like how she is, and she looks more mature, since she's 25 years old, just out of curiosity. She's more of a woman than a girl

I wanted to draw this character "Sierra" from Legend Of Mana Stuck in muddy Quicksand. Even so, she'll be able to get out on her own... right?

#Quicksand #Muddy #Wam #Wetandmessy
It was really difficult to draw this character. The hardest part was her helmet, since it's the most complicated thing for me to draw well, even though there are other versions of helmets. I chose this one with this outfit because it's easier to draw. Even so, it didn't turn out as well as I expected (Especially her helmet), but at least I tried.
