Lover of beaches, books, dogs, yoga, and the Oxford comma. Author of Lion Brothers and The Bamboo Wife. Work in The Southern Review, The Sun, Pleiades, The Threepenny Review. Board member: Furious Flower and Longleaf Writers Conference.
When I started writing back in 2011, I never imagined publishing in The Threepenny Review! Many thanks to Wendy Lesser for choosing my work. Thanks also to @snowdenwright.bsky.social for his excellent editing. Writing this story brought my late father back to me, at least for a little while. ❤️

Some days are interminable. Then you come home and stuffed into your mailbox is The Southern Review featuring your poem alongside the work of some of your favorite writers (Olivia Clare Friedman, Marianne Chan, Jose Hernandez Diaz, Cate Lycurgus). And you think ok. Ok. ❤️

On Sunday I received an acceptance from The Threepenny Review for a personal essay I wrote about my father, and I was absolutely stunned. It should be out within the year!

Had a blast at this spring’s double header: AWP2025 and The Oxford Conference for the Book. Read with some pretty remarkable folks from a great new eco-poetry anthology, met up with friends, and of course ate like an all-star! Heading home….
