Actually a What A Fucking Book and What A Fucking Film type account would be great, and there are some similar-ish things out there, we think. While it would be great to extend the What A Fucking Universe, WAFR is a lot of work for our team and taking on the other cultural forms would become a JOB

Seems to me publishers could afford to be kinder
By "commercial marketplace" they 100% mean publishers, not authors.

Libraries tossing out weeded titles is not a travesty. 🧵

1. libraries MUST weed. We don't have magic shelves with unlimited space. 2. we do try to find alternatives to recycling. Book sales, free tables, and places like Better World Books get the majority of weeded titles. 1/3

I had tickets to see Siouxsie in 1985 but got grounded because I used my mother’s boombox without asking. My brother, who was into other stuff, went instead and got me a t-shirt, thanks.

How about this? Best concerts that you ALMOST got to see but DIDN’T.
Include reasons if you like:

Rolling Stones (play rehearsal)

Johnny Cash (I dallied)

R.E.M. (play performance)

Nirvana (canceled, college declined to pay requested $500 appearance fee)
