The clock was dropped, and the hands came free. The clock is inexpensive and not really designed to be repaired - just replaced. However, I was able to get inside and fix the hands and solder a busted wire. It feels good to make simple repairs around the house.

I don't like cooking, so when I do cook, I want it to be special. I served buttloaf. It's like meatloaf but in the shape of a butt.

I was taking a few items to storage when I realized these two pieces of kit represent how I once fabricated props and models and how I do it today.

I was outside when I noticed an unusual aircraft take off from MacDill AFB. You don't see many 747s, and I quickly learned the "Doomsday Plane" was in town. It's an E-4B, one of only 4 heavily modified 747s intended as a flying command center for use during national emergencies - think nuclear war.

On the left is my original "Fury of the Empire" medal prop, which was probably created a decade ago, referencing screen grabs and magazine images. Center is a piece from Maggie Schpak's personal collection. On the right is my new CAD design based on the original piece.

3D printing is a fickle thing. The last several files printed without issue, then yesterday, a double failure. Nothing to do but clean up the mess and try again.

Purchased a small light box from Amazon last week. It's inexpensive, collapsible, easy to use, and includes several backdrop color inserts. Perfect for photographing scale models or pieces for my Etsy shop.

My 25 minute project only took 3 hours. Replaced the oil pressure switch on my truck Wrong tools and a faulty replacement caused me a lot of grief. I got there in the end. Props to all mechanics out there.

"Section 31" isn't very good. I expected not to like show but for a completely different reason. I don't like the Section 31 concept. I thought it would be a good show just not a good Star Trek show. I was wrong. It is an uninspired production full of sci-fi tropes and cliches.
