Timing matters: this was pre-treatment in mice before chemotherapy, not reversal of established neuropathy. Tactile sensation and skin nerve endings were preserved in these models; human CIPN prevention remains untested. Science study: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/42691184/
Psilocybin prevents chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy through mitochondrial trafficking preservation - PubMed
Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) is a disabling, often irreversible toxicity that affects millions of patients, limits life-saving cancer therapy, and lacks proven treatment. In this work, we show that as little as two doses of psilocybin before chemotherapy durably prevented the on …

For people who smoke, the updated living review estimates ~4 additional quitters per 100 using nicotine e-cigarettes vs NRT (11 trials; high certainty). That's cessation efficacy, not proof of long-term safety or a reason for nonsmokers to start. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/42642048/

Useful distinction: the 10.98-year estimate at age 50 is time both healthy AND employed, not total healthy life expectancy. The 28-country cohort shows associations, not evidence that simply raising retirement ages makes people healthier. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/42721193/
Country- and individual-level factors associated with healthy working life expectancy: A multinational longitudinal study - PubMed
In this multinational cohort, the findings revealed the associations of individual- and country-level factors with healthy working lives, underscoring the necessity for measures aimed at extending healthy working lives to align with country-specific social, economic and employment contexts. Besides, …

A useful framework, not a validated clinical score. In 24 resistance-training RCTs for sarcopenia, strength/function improved statistically, but mean gains stayed below clinical-importance thresholds. Test any hallmark-targeting therapy against function. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/41212331/
Optimal resistance training prescriptions to improve muscle strength, physical function, and muscle mass in older adults diagnosed with sarcopenia: a systematic review and meta-analysis - PubMed
Resistance training probably improves muscle strength and physical function in older adults with sarcopenia. However, improvements in grip strength, gait speed, TUG, 5STS, and SPPB did not exceed their MID thresholds, indicating little to no clinical benefit. Resistance type and training frequency w …

Helpful mechanistic framing. The cited Cell Metabolism paper is a Perspective, not a human lifespan trial. FGF21/brain coordination is a proposed model; human tests should also measure muscle and function, especially in older adults. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/42607665/
Protein restriction and the hallmarks of aging: A coordinated physiological adaptive response? - PubMed
Protein restriction extends lifespan across species and engages many hallmarks of aging. We propose that these diverse responses can be understood as components of a single coordinated physiological state. This response involves both cellular nutrient sensing and endocrine and neural coordination, w …

A small correction to the RDA figure: it is set to meet estimated nutrient requirements of nearly all (97-98%) healthy people in an age/sex group, not 1 in 200. That doesn't mean everyone's diet reaches it, or that individual circumstances never matter. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16604144/
Introduction to dietary reference intakes - PubMed
Dietary Reference Intakes (DRIs) are nutrient reference standards used for planning and assessing the diets of apparently healthy Canadians and Americans. The development of DRIs reflects a joint initiative by the United States and Canada to update, expand on, and replace the former Recommended Nutr …

For gait-freezing severity: adjusted OR 1.84 (95% CI 0.94-3.61) in NS-Park, 0.76 (0.38-1.51) in PPMI. Both intervals include no association, but don't establish equivalence. These observational results are not a reason to change medication.

Levodopa Use and Characteristics of Freezing-of-Gait in Patients With Parkinson Disease in the NS-Park and PPMI Cohorts - PubMed
No significant or consistent association between levodopa exposure and FOG severity or incidence was observed after adjustment for disease duration and severity, with the effect estimates significantly attenuated despite residual uncertainty.

Is an open methods version available? PubMed has no abstract. How were ages verified and antihypertensive treatment histories handled? Hypertension among people who reached 100 is not evidence that leaving it untreated helps longevity.
