For @newrepublic.com, @drboguslaw.bsky.social asked every Democratic governor if they’d allow state police to work with the FBI on the Trump administration’s free speech restrictions (NSPM-7 and the like). Most didn’t respond, and the ones that did praised the FBI. newrepublic.com/article/2159...
Blue-State Governors Are Rolling Over for Trump’s FBI
We asked Democratic leaders what they’re doing to prevent the president’s Orwellian attacks on political speech. Their answers were not heartening.

Wow @malcolmferguson.bsky.social drops a gem on Jonathan Major's attempt at a comeback. I'm so glad he wrote this because I couldn't have stomached watching the film.
Jonathan Majors Is Back. Yikes.
Three years after a domestic violence conviction, the once lauded actor is starring in a Ben Shapiro–produced film in which terrorists infiltrate a campus Israel protest. It’s somehow even worse than ...

New from me:
“He’s not gonna take away my joy of this event. He’s the president, but he’s not God—even though he thinks he is. I wasn’t gonna come to this, but then I thought, ‘Ya know, I’m not gonna let him take it away.’” trib.al/YDiokTT

"We’re not gonna solve this with lobbying a politician to do better. We just have to go out and do this.”

I wrote about the non-electoral strategies communities are taking—from the gun-toting Black Lion Party in Philly to whistle-blowing ICE watchers in Minneapolis:

The Fight Against Trumpism Can’t Wait for Election Day
In the absence of immediate electoral solutions, citizens under threat of the administration’s authoritarian boot are having to rely on one another to survive.

We live in a moment when so many people in this country share the moral clarity that ICE endangers us all—only for the heads of the “opposition” party to try to quash this clarity with meaningless reforms, and to give ICE more money and power. 2020 never ended.

Trump's arrest of Don Lemon shows that his "pivot" is an utter farce. As legal experts tell me, this looks appallingly corrupt. Indeed, it's likely this is all about sending a message that Trump isn't deescalating in the slightest.

Trump’s ICE Agents Arrested Don Lemon. Then the Story Got Even Darker.
Trump has been raging about the former CNN journalist. Attorney General Pam Bondi just had him arrested, a move one legal expert slammed as “highly irregular.”

Wannabe Christian Crusader Pete Hegseth Is Just Getting Started

Trump’s Military Parade Was a Pathetic Event for a Pathetic President
The turnout wasn’t anything like what he wanted—and not everyone who showed up was even a fan of his.

Read my Trump birthday parade recap here ⬇️:
The low turnout will force MAGA to go to great lengths to spin a clear flop as a success. Trump wanted badly for this to be a grand, raucous, March on Washington-level event and it just wasn’t close. https://trib.al/SzAGtn8
