The world we should live in.
Proud to announce that New York City has registered a record 4,200 New Yorkers in our doula care program.

Pregnancy and childbirth are life-changing moments. No one should be forced to navigate them alone.

trans rights frankly is a top 5, potentially top 3 issue for me despite not being trans and not having any trans family

being bigoted against trans folks not only hurts my trans friends and every trans person but is so predictive of further bigotry

"A blues rivered its way through the two of us during that drive.”

Read this piece. Gratitude to author and human being Saeed Jones.
In 2023 while in NOLA, a Lyft Driver and I had a conversation about leaving home. It led to him telling me about his terminal diagnosis.

“An editor told me once that if you want to understand a war, interview the grave diggers. I’d add that if you want to understand a city, interview the drivers.”

A small business owner of a children's party waterslide company, Francisco Longoria, was driving down the street in a suburban neighborhood when suddenly masked men attacked.

ICE thugs broke their windows, assaulted them & shot at them 3 times.

Data Centers in VA impacted electricity in half of the nation.

This is terrifying.

It’s time for our legislators to step up and protect us.

Midterms are in 3 months — vote accordingly!

Say NO to Data Centers. 🛑

Who are the best reporters covering resistance and mutual aid efforts. Other than @democracynow.org and the lawyers fighting back. I have enough feeds that break down the horror, cruelty and descent into fascism. Hook me up to the fightback feeds!

Let's go.

I try not to mythologize leaders, but in my imagination this guy wakes up every day and says “what can we do today?” Amazing watching getting better with intention, compassion and resources.
My dad asked me what it was like having Mamdani as mayor and I said “it’s nice having a guy who loves the city as the mayor. But it’s even nicer to have a guy who knows the people are the city. And it’s even nicer than that that he’ll tell you every time he does something for said people”

A grim reminder this 4th of July: The US has the highest incarceration rate of any independent democracy on Earth, making it a leader in mass incarceration.

Far too many people are locked up in the “land of the free.”

Just a reminder that patriotism isn't holding a bible and wrapping yourself in the flag while you violate the Constitution and plunder the country.
