I remember canoeing, tubing, and water skiing in the lakes and rivers of Iowa. I'm sure some people still do such things, but there is barely a waterway that's safe now, and sometimes waterworks can barely produce enough water that's safe to drink. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...

Iowa’s education score, 394 out of 1,000, is based on our rates of preschool participation, 4th grade reading and 8th grade math proficiency, and high school graduation. It’s a far cry from Iowa’s score of 598 in 2019, when it ranked 11th.
