Also, I wish I had your optimism about the American political system and the potential power of the public to fix problems. The powerful men you mentioned seem to be even more powerful lately with the effects of Citizens United and other legal rulings; not enough members of the public read your work

Pg 36, 3rd column, 2nd paragraph, I believe there’s an editing error, correct? You list the 1988 Reagan fuel economy statement, and then the Bill Clinton banking deregulation as “a year later,” when that was 11 years later or 1999, right? Overall a great and richly reported article, thank you

Ed, you did a great job with this piece, setting up the statements and putting them into context, some of which I didn’t realize prior. Jameis being from Birmingham, for example, was news to me, and says a lot just by itself. I think you’ve done the best out of the beat writers in covering this. 👍

Thanks so much for your article today on the recent Dart kerfuffle. It was even-handed and, in contrast to Dan Duggan’s daft piece, honest and brave. I appreciate all you do to make Big Blue View what it is for us Giants fans, especially during these tough years
