The superintendent position went from ~$300,000 in 2023, to $362,000 in 2024. Meaning that while teachers got, at most, a 7% raise, the superintendent and his team got, on average, between 15% and 20%.

Now, I want to point out that people voted in 2024 to increase property taxes to fund AISD, which brought much needed salary increases to teachers in 2025... but also a pretty significant increase for the AISD executive team, in the order of several hundreds of thousands of dollars.

I know many people blame state recapture for this. I do too. And I would agree that it is an undeniable part of the problem.
