Gotta find silver linings where I can.
Serena Williams was on the field longer today than Harrison Butker.

Odd moment of cognitive dissonance. I added the TX AG to my list of voicemails to scream into the void at to tell them to join the investigation of DOGE. Their voicemail is in English and Spanish. It’s not much but it’s better than I expected from them. I’m sure they’ll remove it since I noticed.

If you live in or near an agricultural area, and you see crops rotting in the fields because laborers are being deported, please take a picture or video, and DM it to me

Include where you took it and the date you took it. If possible, include an intersection or an address.

If Elon Musk did in the private sector what he's doing in the public sector, he would face a multi-BILLION dollar class action lawsuit for illegal breaches of data privacy and transparency.

The problem with Elon is we can't fire him because we never hired him.

And we can't impeach him because we never put him in office.

But the DC police can arrest him as a private citizen for trespassing next time he barges into federal offices without legit authorization.

i think it is important to say that the open and explicit racism of the president and the vice president isn’t just uncouth or “controversial” but a direct attack on tens of millions of americans and a dereliction of their duty to represent the entire country

We joined Costco last weekend to start distancing ourselves from Target, Home Depot, and Amazon. I have sent an email message letting them know why they were getting our business, but tomorrow I may take a break from screaming into the void that is my senators’ voice mail boxes to call them.
Thanks to those who pointed me to the right info! I called 425-313-8100 and spoke to a person (!!) who thanked me for my feedback and forwarded me to the place where she said they are logging those calls. I spoke to another actual person who loggedme; script in next post for other shy folks.

Today’s agenda: read the transcript of MLK’s final speech in Memphis and Letter from Birmingham Jail. Starting reading Solnit’s Hope in the Dark. Watching Twin Peaks because I never could get into it and I have a day off work. Keeping the cats warm.

Let's recap.

The victims of a crime, those who tried to stop that crime and those who investigated it, received pardons today to protect themselves from the criminals because the criminals are now in charge.

How quickly things change when people stop paying attention.

This is incredibly sad news. Cecile Richards will be missed.
A heartbreak

People not elected to government should not have the power to reshape the government, especially people whose obscene wealth depends on the government functioning a certain way.

This is not a hot take.

It's just plain common sense.

NGL, I just called my mom for life advice, but if she was calling senators to say “she’s not as horrible a person as my past public statements make her seem to be,” I’d just go home.
Elon Musk and Pete Hesgeth are the kind of tough alpha males that America needs, according to their mommies

Of note: the music playing in the background when I was given the option to share this is an Asleep at the Wheel cut of Big Balls in Cowtown, and most of those minutes were podcasts. I like to listen to people with nice voices talk about history while I poke at spreadsheets.
