Always funny when ostensible liberals are like "You see, this postcolonial conflict is actually very nuanced and complex, because what makes it so very unique is that the majority ethnic group doesn't want to share power with the minority ethnic groups."

Oh wow, I didn't know that, that's wild man.

Bibi Netanyahu at the UNGA, in front of a half-empty chamber: "Do you remember the beepers? Remember? Remember them?!"

[pulls out a beeper from his pocket]

"Well, I can tell you this. Hezbollah certainly remembers them!"

In the last decade, the IDF prosecuted one (1) soldier for unlawfully killing a Palestinian in the occupied territories. Elor Azaria served 9 months in prison.

Today Israel's president, Yitzhak Herzog, pardoned him and expunged his criminal record.

A clear message of 100% impunity.

Major kudos to MIT, who just put out a report about AI on their campus that lucidly explains the threat posed by AI to cognition and the student experience, while at the same time prioritizes learning, students, and the value of education. 1/x aiandeducation.mit.edu/report/

So much of our policy doesn’t directly address what we claim we want to solve. Instead we try to police and punish people out of the thing we don’t like, and then act surprised when that pressure doesn’t actually do anything to solve the problem.

The canard that anti-Zionism and antisemitism are inseparable is being used to sideline pro-Palestinian voices, reshape debates over academic freedom and protest, and blur the distinction between criticism of a state and hostility toward Jewish people.
The ‘we’ of anti-Zionism
At a Winnipeg lecture on antisemitism and Israel, Dr. Rachel Fish argued that anti-Zionism and antisemitism are inseparable. Too often, writes Professor Mark Libin, that conflation is being used to si...

Schrödinger's Diaspora Jew: Simultaneously existentially threatened as a Jewish minority always on the verge of extermination without a Jewish state to keep us safe, and yet also too pampered in our comfortable homes in New York to lecture Israeli Jews facing constant danger on how to keep safe.
If the argument here is "Brad Lander is too safe as a Jew in diaspora to tell Israeli Jews how to keep safe," that sits uncomfortably with the argument that a Jewish state is necessary to keep Jews safe.
