My fifth and final font for the @cartoonist.coop Letterer Challenge 2026! The prompt was "Font Selfie", so I made a font influenced by my own handwriting!
You can download it here: chaseburns.itch.io/cb-compositi...

an image displaying "CB Composition", a handwritten comic book font.

there's a speech balloon that reads "For this font, I took a page out of my own book… literally! Which is to say… the shapes are influenced by the quick notes I took in school!!"

Made for the Cartoonists United Letterer Challenge 2026

another image displaying "CB Composition", a handwritten comic font.

There's a speech balloon reading "technically most comic book style fonts are handwritten, but what I mean is this is pretty sloppy."

OpenType ligatures make side-by-side duplicate letters different, for a more handwritten feel.

Some letters even have triplicate versions!

There's another speech balloon reading "Wheee!!! Ooooohhh?? Aaaaiiiiiieeee!!"

And for the discerning individual, alternate characters can also be picked by hand! Even the periods!!

There's a speech balloon that reads "and then I was all like, 'blah blah blah'.....", with highlighted letters, discerning which ones are alternate letters.

another image displaying "CB Composition", a handwritten comic font. this one lists the four styles: regular, italic, bold, and bold italic. it also displays all of the glyphs included in the font

The image is of a four panel comic.
In the first panel we see Sarah, the protagonist, next to a stick figure labeled “AI”. The stick figure says, “my outputs look just like yours now.”
The second panel zooms in on Sarah’s face. Above her we see text reading “I think”.
The third panel zooms in closer on Sarah’s face. Text above her reads “you missed”.
The fourth panel shows Sarah drawing happily in a sunlit room. The text above her reads “the point”.
