Seems incredibly incompetent and dangerous that they waited until now to urge Americans to leave the region? Whatever you think of the attacks, it was obvious that Iran would retaliate.
Trump says Iran war could last weeks, US citizens in more than a dozen countries urged to leave
The war in the Middle East is spiraling further as Israel and the U.S. pound Iran, which hit back. U.S. President Donald Trump says he's prepared take the operation "far longer" than 4 to 5 weeks.

Important work here from the NYT. Ross wasn’t run over. He dropped his cell phone, which he had shifted to his left hand to draw his weapon. And then he shot and killed a person with the gun in his right hand.

These declines are MASSIVE.

And the comparative silence in media coverage is absolutely DAMNING.

“Why are ppl always so afraid of crime?”

THIS is why. When crime goes up, media trips over itself to report it.

Falls to pre-war (!!) levels? Just CRICKETS.
I count 10 cities in 2025 that are on track to have the fewest murders since at least 1970. Newark is on pace to have the fewest murders since 1956 (though only have data through Oct this year) and San Francisco is on pace to have the fewest murders since 1942.

I really don’t understand Counsell’s decision to use Boyd on short rest, which almost never works, when he could have started Assad or Rea, who are almost always quietly effective.

Our protest made the NYT: “In the suburbs north of Chicago on Friday morning, protesters unfurled banners in opposition to ICE along on a highway that leads from a naval station that is being used as a staging ground for the federal government’s operations.”

This is really amazing and sweet
CDC Workers have lined the street outside its HQ to greet and salute the four top officials who have resigned in protest at RFK Jr’s dangerously demented attack on the agency’s science base.

As usual, @jamellebouie.net sees the big picture. “If the president cared about crime, he would push House Republicans to restore the $1 billion Congress cut from the city’s budget, so that Washington could fully staff its Metropolitan Police Department and pay for the services and personnel …”

But one of the agents opened fire. The agents accused the driver of trying to run them over and claimed two were hit. The video clearly shows no intent to hit nor that any were hit.

ICE is lying. They fired a gun on unarmed US citizens.

I'm going to be on WCPT 820 AM at 3:30 this afternoon. This might be my big chance to fulfill my lifetime dream of singing on the air even if they say it's supposed to be an interview about Trump for talk radio. Any song suggestions to capture the mood of our times?
