2/3 Women reported lower satisfaction than men. The association between relationship satisfaction and age was U-shaped, with individuals in their fifties reporting the lowest levels. English-speaking countries scored highest, Confucian and African-Islamic regions scored lowest.

2/3 Relationship quality was highest when people rated their partners above themselves. But for value-based traits like political orientation, the story flips. Perceived discrepancies predicted lower relationship quality in either direction. Similarity mattered, not idealization.
