Look at the face! 😍
I was thrilled to get this shot of a gorgeous Red Kite today near Steart Marshes in Somerset! 😀
It was holding the flesh of some creature in its talons and was eating it as it flew right over my head! 😮
Zoom in and just Look at the face! 😍🐦

Amazing moment when a male Sparrowhawk caught a Goldfinch in my Somerset garden yesterday! 🐦
Sad for the Goldfinch, but it's nature, and a healthy environment needs a healthy balance between predator and prey. 🐦

This is Maisie. We can't tell if she's excited about spring, or just excited about possibly eating this flower. Either way, her enthusiasm is contagious. 14/10 (IG: maisieloupup)
a small blond puppy smiles wide while leaping up to sniff a small, round, white flower. the pup’s mouth is open, so she may or may not also be aiming to explore this flower with other senses than sight and smell.

This is Oakley. He has an injury that requires physical therapy and at-home massages. Luckily, his cat sibling River has been training his whole life for this. 14/10 for both

Singer, songwriter, and guitarist Sister Rosetta Tharpe was born #OTD in 1915.

The original #soul sister & "Godmother of Rock & Roll" influenced Little Richard, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley & Jerry Lee Lewis. 😮 Great balls of fire!

A classic black-and-white photograph of Sister Rosetta Tharpe (1915–1973), the pioneering gospel singer, guitarist, and "Godmother of Rock 'n' Roll." Captured mid-performance in a nightclub or studio setting (likely 1940s–1950s), she leans into a vintage microphone with a radiant, joyful smile—eyes sparkling upward in ecstasy, mouth open wide in song or laughter, conveying pure passion and energy. Her dark hair is styled in elegant curls with a small decorative bow or flower accent. She wears a light-colored dress with voluminous, sheer puffed sleeves, a high neckline, and a large bow at the neck, giving her an elegant yet exuberant stage presence. In her hands she cradles a white guitar, fingers poised on the fretboard as she plays. The background shows a draped curtain and soft stage lighting, emphasizing her dynamic pose and the fusion of sacred gospel with secular rhythm that defined her groundbreaking career. This iconic image captures Tharpe's revolutionary influence—blending gospel with early rock 'n' roll guitar techniques, influencing artists like Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Chuck Berry, and Little Richard, and becoming one of the first major Black female stars to cross over into mainstream popularity while remaining rooted in her faith.

Houses form a dense pattern yet this back street in some city fails to feel lively. Because it's by Jacob Vrel, painter of stillness. Today has been his day.

You could say that Rock n Roll was born 111 years ago today in Arkansas, but probably not where you'd think. Before there was a Chuck Berry or Little Richard, there was those who wanted to be like her.

Rosetta Nubin better known as Sister Rosetta Tharpe, the godmother of Rock was born on this day

It's the golden hour at Glacier National Park. Everything is calm and beautiful, and humans are at peace with their surroundings for once. A pretty sunset is the proper setting for a contemplative mood. Montana, July 2025.

Made a beautiful focaccia garden for the spring equinox. We’re doing a lil feast and a fire pit. Needing some rebirth up in here!!
