Former BDK guy. Also former Animation Cel-ery guy. Now guy.
Since TV on the Radio are on TV tonight, I’ll take this opportunity to say that their album “Seeds” is incredible. All their albums are great, and you should listen to all five of them, but “Seeds” has the best combination of quality and accessibility to new listeners. Sample: youtu.be/jRc-fnEzuTs

Feels like I should interact with Bluesky sometimes, so here’s some BDK lore. Specifically, what’s Tailrazor been doing?

Since we last saw them, they made two more albums: a double-album called “Metadata” and one called “Water”.

Following that post about the word “officially”, my autistic ass became obsessed with whether punctuation goes inside or outside of quotation marks. So I researched it. Punctuation goes inside only if it’s part of the quotation. I like learning useful little things like that. 🙂

Also, I think I’m going to try to use emojis more often. It’s not something I normally think of in most cases, but I’m operating under the assumption that I’m autistic, and so I want to make sure my tone is understood. In this case, it is neutral. 😐

I’ve started to not just hate, but become enraged by the word “officially.” It’s a huge red flag in social media posts that the link they’re about to ask you to click goes to a rumor that means nothing. I get offended that they tried.

I’m having this existential crisis where I don’t know why I know who John Hamm is. Like, I know he was in Good Omens, and I saw him and went, “Oh, John Hamm.” But why did I recognize him? Did I once google “who’s that guy in all the commercials” and the answer stuck with me?

I was thinking about the time I had to ask an American for a 600 ml Coke and hit an imperial wall. And it suddenly hit me just now, wait wait wait… Do you guys actually NOT call the real big soda bottles “2 liters?” What do you call them?

Apparently there’s a Canadian wrestling promotion called Maple Leaf Pro. I guess they didn’t realize that the initials “MLP” are already established on the Internet. So best of luck to My Little Pony Wrestling, as most people will assume it is. Which actually might help, come to think of it.

While I was playing Pokémon Pokopia today, the thought occurred… is this game canon? Because if it is, yikes, the future of the Pokémon world is scary.

(No spoilers please. I haven’t finished the story, and I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s some kind of twist.)

For tonight’s stoned bedtime thought, here are my top five Pink Floyd albums:

1 - Wish You Were Here
2 - Animals
3 - The Endless River
4 - The Wall
5 - The Dark Side of the Moon

Here’s tonight’s random thought:

In the current run of Beavis and Butt-Head, there’s a middle-aged version of Butt-Head who has a pacemaker. How did he afford that? He lives in Texas!

Pokémon Pokopia is the perfect game for someone with ADD. A million tasks, each requiring significant engagement, but with no negative consequences if you don’t do them? Can’t wait to ignore 90% of the game while burning through the story and imagining lavish Pokémon communities I’ll never build.

Feeling nostalgic about the furry friends I’ve had such good times with and will probably never see again. Love you folks. Thanks for accepting me into your circle. If you ever wanna come to Canada and hang out…👍

I seem to have late night thoughts I want to post somewhere lately. Here’s tonight’s:

I am good at creating things mentally, but not at creating things actually. Ask me about any of the five to ten video games I’ve been designing in my head for the last several years.

It’s 9:30 at night, I’m a little stoned, and I thought a little too hard about R.E.M.’s “Try Not to Breathe” and depressed myself.

Is social media still happening?

Every once in a while, I have to put this prediction in publicly accessible writing so I can point to it later:

One of the core six cast members of The Simpsons will die before the scheduled end of the series, and it won’t get a proper finale.

The only person on Bluesky I've seen be sad about Hulk Hogan dying is JD Vance. That says a lot about Bluesky's user base and Hulk Hogan.

I've been watching someone play Donkey Kong Bananza, and they have an unfortunate habit of pressing the X button to punch. X punches up, and Y punches normally. But because A is the default jump button, X feels the most natural to quickly shift your thumb to.

My favorite thing about Bananza is how it’s introduced a new lore about Donkey Kong and Pauline, and in particular given Pauline more of a role in the greater Mario universe. He’s not a lecherous ape, and she’s not a useless damsel. They’re buddies.

I remember in 1994, it was a big deal that the New York Rangers “broke a curse” by beating the Vancouver Canucks to win the Stanley Cup for the first time in 54 years.

The Vancouver Canucks have now existed for 55 years and haven’t won it yet.

@taeshi.bcb.cat I am a little high, but I was just randomly thinking, “Wow, I hung out with Vero and Oliver IN PERSON.” Then I realized that Anthrocon this past weekend might have marked 10 years since then. Weird!

Lunch at historic Molly’s Reach. There was a TV show called Beachcombers that was filmed here in Gibsons, BC, and Molly’s Reach was the cafe. Now I’m eating here!

Random thought: Why is there a menu board on the wall of Bob’s Burgers if they have menus for the tables?
