Yes, people like the woman in that clip being insulted, bullied and pushed around by comfortable, middle aged wankers has been the entire selling point of right wing politics for *at least* two decades. “We will harm people you irrationally hate and make them cry” is most of the sales pitch.
Just look at the glee on Nigel Farage’s face as he watches a Piddington resident cry about the overt racism she, her Caribbean heritage husband, and their two children have felt in the village during the referendum.

Time and again he’s showing us exactly who he is.

I know I am not the median voter. But when I watch Trump performances like the one we just endured in North Carolina, I can't escape the feeling that our problems go much deeper than "affordability" and we're whistling past the graveyard if we reduce our politics to that issue.

One of the stubborn dynamics in climate politics is conservatives being simply unwilling to believe that their ideological opponents were/are right about something very important. Lots of conservatives really did covince themselves it was all a conspiracy to impose more government control.

What I like about the EW article is that it doesn't let her rep's lie stand, it lists several items to the contrary. More outlets could take a lesson from that.
Eye-wateringly stupid defence from Rowling’s team here - ‘She does not support legal actions aimed at harming transgender people.’ - Really? So that £70,000 towards the bathroom ban was by accident? The JKR Women’s Fund was made by an impersonator? At least have the spine to admit you want us dead

Obviously this is a hilarious and obvious lie but it's instructive in that Trump knows he's supposed to care about this thing, and manifestly does not and cannot care about it, and so he has to put himself into the story just to make it something he can talk about. He almost died that day!
