When people say they’re apolitical it’s because they know you won’t like them. It’s a red flag.
“I don’t do politics … I’m right down the middle” guy is almost always a John McCain Republican at the least.

"what if the democrats become labour on trans rights" is the nightmare scenario for trans people in the united states and avoiding that is why I think we need to continue pushing back on dems who waver as hard as possible
This point, from my recent interview with @perrybaconjr.bsky.social for TNR, is so crucial. Trans people are desperate for relief from the relentless Republican attacks impacting all of us.

When Democrats move right, they signal relief may not be coming, and that engenders a lot of despair.

i am genuinely bewildered by people who say that the rise of white nationalism in the republican party is a response to the "woke left." like, did the woke left cause pat buchanan's 1992 presidential campaign? is the woke left why steve king had a long career in congress?

I’ve seen some people making comments about not caring about the Kennedy Center, or even wanting it gone, and if you’re not local, maybe sit this one out. It may be an abstraction to you, but to me it’s where I want to take my kids someday to see the symphony, the ballet, touring shows, etc

Another Iowa Dem releases an ad in response to anti-trans ads against her.

"We need to protect kids, and we need common sense rules to keep sports fair for boys and for girls. Parents know what's best for our kids. Washington needs to stay out of it."

Every news outlet shames itself by using the word “skeptic.” Skeptic implies someone waiting for evidence, not someone committed to ignoring it. Vaccine denialism does not deserve to be lent the prestige of critical thinking.
“On Thursday, Mr. Gorton said that “the success of the polio vaccine was a massive medical fraud” and that widespread vaccination was a “public health disaster.” He received a standing ovation…

Mr. Kennedy spoke next, linking arms with the group even as measles cases continue to rise”
RFK Jr. Assures Vaccine Skeptics They Have a ‘Friend at the White House’
The health secretary spoke at a conference featuring misinformation about vaccines, including a claim that the success of the polio vaccines was a “fraud.”

We're still working on revamping our website, but this video about migrating to Northsky does a quick job of explaining our account hosting services:

This is straight out of Handmaids Tale.

A high school trying to force girls to disclose the dates and lengths of their menstrual cycle.

Don’t comply? You lose a grade.

There’s absolutely no reason a school needs this information other than to exert control over our bodies.

But they like had to know they weren't shipping me the item.

Why are they waiting for me to tell them it's missing?

And to be clear: both items were less than $20 bucks. It's like they were hoping I wouldn't notice and they could pocket the money.

They don't want to release the Epstein files. But they do want to vote for Trump and his "teen beauty pageants" 3 times. And they do want to look at Black parents to try to catch human traffickers.
Her dad was accused of trafficking her on a flight. Now she's suing.

The US already got a do over. A mulligan. A second chance.

Much of the world, especially US allies, were ready to write off Trump’s first term as a fluke.

The American people’s choice to put him back in power—as a convicted felon, after an openly bigoted, anti-democracy campaign—showed it was not.
This is the part many Americans -- including the Bezosites at the Washington Post -- don't understand. Canadians don't see this just as a Trump thing. It's that America elected him twice, and the second time with an even bigger mandate.

The problem we're addressing is America, not Trump.
"Out of spite for President Donald Trump, Carney is accelerating the decoupling of a trade bloc that has generated enormous prosperity for North America." Seriously, Wapo editorial - you're going with Canadian spite? www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...
