Yeah, the banning is insane but truly unsurprising considering the administration. In my optimistic eyes I like to think it’s backfiring by spotlighting these books- in my case I’d been putting off reading them but now I’m doing so out of spite 😂

Just got to a part in CODF where they mention one of the main characters of 100 days of solitude so it seems as if this book is set after. lol leave it to me to start off out of order but i don’t think it matters

I’m also still deciding whether I want to read it in English or in Spanish. It’s poetic either way, judging by Chronicles of a Death Foretold, but I just know it hits different in the original language.

I was going to start off strong with 100 Years of Solitude, which is one of the banned novels- but truthfully I’m scared as I was named after a character in the book. I already have a copy in English and in Spanish, just warming up with Chronicles of a Death Foretold. #booksky
