Canada needs to carefully look at this issue before allowing data centre building in Canada. They are trying to sell it as protecting our sovereignty over our data. We need more information on this before we jump in with both feet.
A data center in New Jersey spilled 5,000 gallons of diesel fuel into a local creek, putting the area’s entire river system at risk.
Is it any wonder nearly 70 percent of Americans don’t want a data center in their community?

Distressed developers were looking for a way out. Equity firms were no doubt getting ready to snap up these units like they have with single family homes. No price drop for you.

This is a question that's been bugging me since they started telling us that they were going to build these monster sites. Who benefits from all the resources, (land, water and electricity) used by these companies? For me they're just big toys for big billionaires to play with.
Has anyone ever explained to us what the benefits of these data centers are supposed to be and what they are really doing?

Good advise. It would send a great message, if every Canadian in Alberta who believes in a strong united Canada followed these steps.
