I posted a first draft of a new horror story I wrote inspired by Southwest lore. Set in the late 1800s, it takes place in the Arizona desert at the base of the White Mountains.

I’m hoping to include it in my upcoming anthology! 🌙

Even though I am working on the third draft of my novel - trying to make the flow of the story better; and really focusing on a strong edit. It just seems like this edit is taking way longer than any previous edit I did.

So I have a short story that is being submitted to an anthology collection and they LOVED the story [so I was told] but then came back with a myriad of notes for feedback - like almost the entire story was redlined.

How do you bounce back from this emotionally? I always thought I was a good writer
