If the law cannot protect innocent children from the consequences of past family mistakes, then half of this country’s naturalized citizens would likely be thrown into a state of panic
The protection of minors and holding those in power accountable should not be a partisan issue

It's Friday night, and that's officially the end of my productivity for today. I'm looking forward to seeing an old friend tomorrow and enjoying some delicious Japanese food

If fighting fraud is really the priority, it shouldn’t matter who your friends are or how much money they give
JD Vance running around the country saying he’s fighting health care fraud while his nominee for the senate in TX who he completely supports is partying in Dubai with a guy whole stole over $300 million in health care fraud and gave Paxton $190,000. This is the Republican Party.

This is actually really striking. The Republican candidates are genuinely quite bad!
It's really remarkable how in race after race, Republicans are saddled with the worst candidates imaginable - Paxton, Whatley, Husted, Rogers, Marshall, Moody, M. Collins, Graham...

Some of them may win, but my god what a collection of losers, crooks, and dumbasses

If an ordinary person commits a federal crime, they wouldn’t get a second chance, but if you’re a politician on the right side of the political spectrum, you can easily get a get-out-of-jail-free card. This is nothing but blatant double standards
The most corrupt and unethical president in US history by far.

I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation.

I will not be silenced.

It’s 1964 and 20yr old GEORGE HARRISON George Harrison sits in a 1964 Plymouth Fury in South Florida.

The Beatles were in Miami for the Ed Sullivan Show live from the Deauville Hotel and local police provided George with some American cars to fool around in.

Do you know how hard it is to lose the war if you're the United States? It's about as unlikely as bankrupting a casino.
Chris Murphy: "Donald Trump was so fundamentally unprepared for this war that within days of the war starting, our billion dollar air bases and naval bases in the region were obliterated by the Iranians. Every single American should be furious about that."

If an execution were broadcast live, wouldn’t that be legal murder? What’s the difference between that and a murderer?
No one is arguing the Fort Hood shooter shouldn’t be punished for the horrific crime he committed. The point is that the execution shouldn’t be live streamed on national television, because of the damage that does to us.

Here is my pitch for anyone who has worries about rail: I think that building out rail is a necessary (but not sufficient) step in transforming American cities from totally car dependent to slightly walkable, in a way that no other form of transit is.
I GOT TO VOTE FOR TRAINS! Fuck yeah Front Range Passenger Rail!

Been thinking about The Great Gatsby lately. Gatsby had wealth, parties, and a life that looked successful, yet he chased a dream rooted in the past. It makes me wonder how often we mistake success for happiness. Some books mean more as you get older
