I hate that bullshit expression, "Love the sinner, hate the sin." Especially when "sin" is a religious construct designed to make people fear Hell and fall in line with hateful, bigoted people's selfish agenda.

I decided to write about it today.

It’s been six months since the killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti. Here is how the federal government has stonewalled investigations, and how Minnesota law enforcement is attempting to push for accountability anyway
The Death of Renee Good Has Yet to Be Properly Investigated
Six months after she and Alex Pretti were shot on the streets of Minneapolis, little has come of the probes into their killings.

“Beware the drowning man” (or cornered, wounded animal) is crucially relevant in 🇺🇸 right now as well.
The average life expectancy of a new Russian recruit—from arrival at a training ground to death in a combat zone—lies somewhere between 10 days and three weeks. Once sent onto the battlefield, they survive an average of 20 to 35 minutes. @peterfrankopan.bsky.social foreignpolicy.com/2026/06/25/r...

Yes, Congress should be able to do these things. A court this contemptuous of Congress deserves to be packed by Congress, not only to correct these disastrous precedents but also because Congress needs to show both Article II and Article III who’s boss.

This is absolutely right.

Trumpy is already gloating he can fire anyone he wants. Expect a lot of people to be fired. If you're not Trumpy enough, you should expect a pink slip.

How much does SCOTUS makes in their side hustle in their obedience to Trumpy?

But the outrageous 30-to-100-year sentences for the Prairieland 9 anti-ICE protesters mark a new low in punishing Americans for their ideas

The shocking 50-to-100-year prison sentences to leftist Texas protesters are more fascism than true criminal justice.

First (but *not* last) #SCOTUS ruling is in Cisco.

For the usual 6-3 majority, Barrett effectively guts the Alien Tort Statute and forecloses aiding-and-abetting liability under the Torture Victims Protection Act. A really big (and bad) ruling for accountability for human rights abuses:

Kristi Noem has done a stunning amount of damage and it’s good she’s gone.

But this doesn’t change the fact that we need a complete overhaul of DHS, impartial investigations into the killings of two American citizens, and information on children that were taken from Minnesota.
