Minnesota is mourning. Hortman will be remembered for making sure little kids got fed well at school, that families with trans kids could be safe here, that young women get the healthcare they need, that kids are a little safer from guns. But how do we end this madness without more bloodshed?

Melissa Hortman will be remembered by kids eating a good lunch at school. Young women getting the healthcare they need. Families moving here to protect their trans kids. Every Minnesotan who is safer, healthier, and more at peace because of her life’s work. Plant a tree. Pet a dog. Hug a neighbor. 💛

"Show up in person" and "do 40 hours of work a week" are two completely different metrics. Some of my colleagues who work the longest hours do so from home. They're still working no matter where they are.
