It didn’t give bombshell as much as decomposing crab shell.
Saying No more. Not chasing prestige or approval, only saying yes to things that bring me joy and serve my/my family’s needs. Making my world a bit smaller but deeper…for now.

If the outpouring of grief+ memories is proof of anything, it's that they are living through us, the people who carry all of their songs and kindness and weirdness with us, because it shaped us.

Yes, I have seen the "smut doesn't count as reading" post and yes, it is bullshit. Take it from your friendly, neighborhood, smut-loving librarian. All reading counts as reading. Stop worrying about tallies and totals and what other people think about your reading. Enjoy yourself.

Ten years ago I quit my dream job because of a terrible boss who I suspected of being a creep, and I shared that in my exit interview. A couple of years ago I got confirmation that he very much is and was. Today I got a phone call from the folks investigating him and WOW what a drug.

Yesterday I overcame my residual grief and lack of executive functioning to finally send my doctor a message and idk…receiving a nonsensical response from an AI chat bot was the worst case scenario. I hate it here.
