Just can't believe Rec Room is over.
They always felt like the golden child of VR. Like, they figured it out, they attracted the most folks, it was fun and interesting to be in.
I'm not going to say "VR is officially over" but like...it sure FEELS over if Rec Room is gone.

holy shit today was an absolute bloodbath. rec room (game studio) is closing. i guess end of q1 is the reason for the timing?

Just can't believe Rec Room is over.

I kinda want to put together a guide for Rec Room players on porting their worlds to VRChat, and maybe some prefab assets for them too. Both games are built off Unity and Rec Room has an SDK. Should be doable.
If anyone's already working on something like that, please let me know! I'd love to help.

Once again, thanks for your patience! The current outage is being worked on. When things are available again, I'm hoping that a lot of the backend performance issues that made the app nearly unusable with the current load are solved. I'll also be working towards a more highly available setup.

I am a climate scientist and this is correct ⬇️
Occasional reminder that there’s no, “it’s too late, its over” for anthropogenic climate change. Every molecule of CO2 that doesn’t go into the atmosphere makes a difference. Preventing 0.1 degree of warming makes a difference. Every bit of climate resilience we build together makes a difference.
