For Clarity: The Theorist left Loot in the Fomori Vault in the Echoverse, in stasis. Loot *woke up* in there with the knowledge that something was horribly wrong with the Multiverse, and he's stuck.

The Theorist did not wake him up and then lock him up. It's another unintended consequence.

Desparked planeswalkers lost their spark following the events of March of the Machine.
We use the watermark the first time the character appears after that event. Reality Fracture ended up with a higher-than average density of them because of our legend pairs.
