This is the center of the issue in the US, roughly 1 in 3 Americans are functionally illiterate and more than half are reading below a 6th grade level.
A mere google search could have stopped anyone from voting for Trump in 2016 but that is, as inoffensively as possible, beyond many voters.

Brainwashing works differently on everyone, I didn't escape supernatural beliefs until I was in my late 20s. Pretended to be sick to get out of church a lot but just saying "no" was not something I could have imagined back then, not when eternal torment was on the table.

Most tools religions use have been restricted and churches have been muzzled and restrained like rabid dogs to get them to act the way they do today.
However, children do not have freedom of religion and their parent's consent opens the doors to "educational" methods an adult wouldn't consent to.

That's both good and bad, a full recovery would just put us in the same position that led us here, we would just elect another Trump.
Now he has exposed the quiet parts of the US to the world and even many Americans who refused to accept this part of who we are, change will be very hard.

Keep showing up at protests as you cannot organize anything meaningful online. Right now mutual food aid and tracking ICE killings/dissappearances have been a huge pain for ICE. Unfortunately, the US citizens prepared to engage in violence are mainly white supremacist cults praying for doomsday.

Sporting events are where this stuff is on crazy display. Even if you set aside that the star spangled banner is about slavers fighting slavers, the entire concept that some atheletes from your region beating atheletes from another region means your region is better is nonsense.

We shouldn't consider ourselves a free country until even the "lowest" person is free. We tolerated horrible things until now because it wasn't hurting us, but that negligence is what gave the abusers power to rise up. Protesters blocked our streets because this is what we were always building.

That's true in a factual sense but it's hard to convince a kid of that in today's world.
What if they want to be a CEO or even President of the USA? It seems ignorance is the winning move for those roles.

Our military and law enforcements are undergoing a purge and reform right now that is going to have a lasting impact.
Even if we somehow elected the best people next time despite folks not even leaving home for work because ICE, much of Project 2025 can't be undone and the rest will take years.

Accelerationism is tempting but we have a unique problem in the US, we can't convince these people math and DNA are real, much less talk politics with them.

I'm suprised I don't see J6 talked about more in the context of it being a failed attack. The J6 attackers were led away from the floor luckily but one different turn and we would have politicians zip-tied on the floor, sham trials, then executions.

That's why children are the prime target for culture war stuff, they can't leave.
If you had to stand and pledge to a flag every day or memorize bible quotes to avoid punishment at work you could just quit, but kids can't leave schools/families that do this.
