Aged 70, answer: 1 day! Seriously, your question assumes that there is an objectively perceivable length to a year and also shows that that's not true. Otherwise you wouldn't be asking how we perceive a year. There's an explanation for this: a year is a fraction of a person's lifetime.

Maybe the Finns already have a reliable army. The Finns I know are all go-it-alone types. Maybe that comes from having to defend xour only land border against Russia for so long.
