Observer of the passing parade
Given the numbers, this is not the general view of the protest. During the Vietnam War protests, we had incidents of violence. The article quoted police violence as well, as it happened here. National protests are dangerous affairs, which is why they need to be avoided before they get out of hand.

Republicans, those not die-hard MAGA, are disillusioned by Trump's lies and incompetence, trying to hide it. They see it in their daily lives, as prices rise and we're in a new Trump-induced war. It's all at his feet, despite his scapegoating. They don't have the enthusiasm to pretend all is well.

Trump is the new Herbert Hoover. Hoover accelerated the Great Depression by signing the Smoot–Hawley Tariff Act after the crash of 1929. People were already hurting, and prices rose. The effect spread into a global depression that didn't end until the start of WWII. Trump is our Hoover today.

What other President would give our enemies targeting advice? Answer: only a President who isn't a real leader but a grifter who's faking it. He lacks gravitas.
October 6, 2026 at 4:08 PM
And still, the GOP won't consider impeaching him when he's giving targeting advice to our enemies.

As reported, protesters are setting garbage fires, not attacking citizens. The atmosphere is similar to what we've seen here before: moderate disobedience. At least the French police aren't like ICE here, masked and shooting protesters. The French schools reported on BBC are many ancient buildings.

The simplest messages are the most effective. Voters feel the pain of higher prices. They know it's mostly from Trump's new tariffs, which are like a federal sales tax on goods. The link is clear, and the billboard drives it home.

Putin is Trump's puppet once again. If the straits were open, they could get it there instead. Putin is committing war crimes in Ukraine, posing an existential threat. Zelenskyy offered Putin a deal: stop bombing their infrastructure, and he'd do the same. Putin ignored the offer, so Trump jumps in.

This is a fascist administration that's adopted the trappings of past tyrannies in the world. There is no doubt about where it's heading: a danger to democratic processes and the American people.
October 5, 2026 at 10:41 PM
Do to others as they've done to you. McConnell and Trump broke accepted practices in Supreme Court appointments, changing rules based on the party in power to subvert Senate comity for detriment of Congress. It hardened animosities to where we are today.

What you expect from totalitarian regimes, and not from democracies, is America's own long-held policy towards our wounded military, regardless of the cause. It puts the best interests of citizens behind the needs of the administration in power managing the truth.

Alito is overturning recent precedent with Roe, more for ideological reasons than for how the Supreme Court deliberates. It's like he decided to retire and walk out the door earlier and said, screw modern society now expressing his chivernism. Women belong pregnant and at home.

The revolving door of government. How it's done with all the graft and hondling going on in a corrupt government. It's the elite class doing what they do, in all ages and at all times. Now, more than ever.

This is because economic growth is flowing to the top and other places rather than to the consumer sector, which produces jobs.

Trump did want her Nobel Peace Prize. I'm sure he shows it to guests who visit him at Mar-a-Lago.

Trump is a fascist; people don't want to use the word, but this midterm confirms it. He's taking a page from fascist leaders, breaking election laws to hold power. Not even Nixon did the abuse we're seeing with Trump, and expect him to do worse as we get closer to November 3rd.
October 5, 2026 at 1:16 PM
This is the old GOP knee-jerk response to rile up followers. It goes back to the 50s and a fear in the nation of fascist regimes, then Russia, and nuclear weapons. The U.S. used its nuclear umbrella policy to limit the spread. Experts said Iran didn't have any now under the JCPOA. Trump ended it!

Trump's ads make Trump look weak, not strong. It's because you see him, and it reminds you of his BS and his record. Not normal poltical disasters, but the damage from a flawed character who ignores reality as he takes the nation off a cliff. A demagogue with BS as policy, instead of results.
October 5, 2026 at 11:56 AM
The Trump administration is pouring government stimulus into the economy; deficits are soaring to get Trump and the GOP over the November election. The problem this is counterproductive, trading future revenue today, which can't be sustained. Inflation will rise, and demand will slow to a recession.

Bribing voters is illegal, and to hell with the Supreme Court's presidential immunity. He should now be sanctioned and enjoined by the court and given a trial when he leaves office. They can then decide if bribing voters is a core duty, as in autocracies in sham elections.

Trump has no credibility both here and around the globe. He has no respect for the truth. If he's serious, ask the judge to appoint an investigator to establish the damage, the cost to repair, and any alternative scenarios. No one is taking Trump's word for anything at this late date. Stop BSing.

If the oil companies willfully contributed to climate damage, they are responsible for mitigating it until it is resolved. Their solution will be to raise gas prices to maintain margins.

Trump, ever the weathervane. Wait a day, and it will spin back in the other direction.
October 4, 2026 at 7:50 PM
Trump is Svengoolie for MAGA. Vought is an opportunist. It's a symbiotic relationship. Without Trump, he's nothing. Trump's a puppet for many; the list is long, starting with Putin early on. Vought made promises consistent with what Trump wants done, if Trump were smart enough to do it himself.
October 4, 2026 at 3:16 PM
Voight is Trump's apparatchik, a blindly devoted official, a follower, and a member of GOP MAGA. He organized and is implementing policies Trump blessed to create an autocracy going forward by withering democracy. The vaulted Republican Party betrayed America in electing a tyrant with his henchmen.
