NEW COVER! The mystical, vibey, ethereally beautiful bench theme Reflection from Hollow Knight, arr. for piano/cello by me and featuring the one and only @israfelcello.bsky.social killing it on all those cello parts (apparently the highest I have ever written for him 😂 (youtu.be/5arywdj4Cjw?...)

I'm not sure about this DLSS 5 thing.
A screenshot of a cutscene from Yakuza 3 featuring Rikiya and Mikio with the text "DLSS 5 OFF". Below it a screenshot of the same cutscene from Yakuza Kiwami 3 with the text "DLSS 5 ON"

I feel like this silly thing I made a few years ago is relevant now (Yakuza 3 spoilers)

How long are they going to keep repainting the old OutRun cabinet instead of modelling the actual cabinets of the games?

Well, time to stop with the silly shenanigans.
My plan is to return to the Yakuza series this year and work on more B-Sides albums, with Infinite Wealth and Pirate Yakuza being the top priority.
I wish you a happy 2026!

Announcement:

I will not be writing a GameFAQs guide for Yakuza Kiwami 3/Dark Ties.

Full statement below:
Hi everyone. CyricZ here. After giving myself time to reflect on my options, I’ve decided that I will not be writing a GameFAQs guide for Yakuza Kiwami 3 / Dark Ties. I will not be purchasing the game, nor playing it in any capacity. I write guides because I love writing, and I write for the games that I write for because they inspire me. The joy I find in them drives me to give my best work. If I were to write a guide entirely out of obligation or expectation, I do not believe my best work would find its way to the page. With the hiring of known sexual harasser Teruyuki Kagawa to the face and voice cast of Yakuza Kiwami 3, I do not find myself inspired by the game. The Like a Dragon series has a long-standing history of opposing sexual misconduct in all its forms and I feel this casting goes against that message. Key members of RGG Studio have refused to speak on the hiring of Kagawa after his misconduct was made more widely known. While they are by no means required to speak about this, by their silence they have sent a message that they do not view Kagawa’s misconduct as a dealbreaker for inclusion in the series cast, nor do they deem it worth addressing. This stands in contrast to steps taken in the past to replace other cast members that did not align with their values. I won’t go into further detail on the issue itself as the information is widely available via the #REMOVEKAGAWA movement. The rest of this will be about me, my guides, and my relationship with RGG Studio and the Like a Dragon series. I remain a fan of the Like a Dragon series. It’s not something I can just excise from myself. I intend to continue playing past Like a Dragon games on stream as they are some of my favorite video games. That may be subject to change in the future, but the plans are to continue playing the games on stream in my intended order, with the exception of Yakuza Kiwami 3 or Dark Ties. The only minor thing that will change with regards to my streams is that I intend to take special note during stream of the many, many instances during the series that remind us of the societal ill of sexual misconduct. As to future games put out by RGG Studio, I reserve the right to not make a decision on those at this time. That will be a “wait and see” situation, dependent on future actions or inactions by RGG Studio. Further, if things change with regards to the release of Yakuza Kiwami 3, I reserve the right to reassess all the preceding. RGG Studio still has the opportunity to do right in this situation, and I hold onto hope that they will see the best way forward. Finally, I promise to all my readers that my GameFAQs guides for the Like a Dragon series and other RGG Studio games will be going nowhere no matter what happens. Not only are they some of my best work, but if I preserve the guides with myself as the author, I remain in creative control of them. This prevents others from taking the text and redistributing it without my consent, which is something I fear would happen if I were to remove them from GameFAQs entirely. For those of you who read my guides, thank you so much for your support, and I’m sorry I will not be helping with this upcoming game. For anyone who wants to write a guide on GameFAQs for Yakuza Kiwami 3, be my guest, not that you need my permission anyway. For those of you joining me in solidarity against Kagawa and this release, I thank you all for sticking with it. Your commitment has inspired this. Be good to each other, Scott “CyricZ” Zdankiewicz

Thanks to @zorakc2c.bsky.social @musiconthedlo.bsky.social @rahulvanamali.com, I have finally achieved my dream of covering a Yakuza jazz bar theme: Silky Night (Yakuza 0-5), for when you're being educated on fine whiskey, or reflecting on that run-in with the Korean mafia (youtu.be/6wiBF0lf9Fs?...)

All I ask for Yakuza Kiwami 3 is the ability to save the game in the middle of chapter 8.

Just as a heads up, I'm still alive. I'm currently taking a break from Yakuza.
Playing a few games back to back and then proceeding to rip their music, filtering the tracks that already appeared in an OST or another B-Sides and identifying the remaining ones in the game leads to some burnout, (1/5)

Ichiban will appear in Sonic Racing Crossworlds, I definitely didn't see that one coming. I'm wondering what Yakuza music will it include and if it will be remixed.

Today is the release day of Switch 2, and what's more important, the release day of Yakuza 0 Director's Cut.
Whenever I get the chance I'll research if there's new music (or music that couldn't be ripped cleanly before) for a new release.

With the upcoming release of Yakuza 0 Director's Cut, I'm wondering if it will have new music accompanying the added content, I may do a B-Sides if it's worth it. I've also been told recently that the in-game version of Reign is different than the OST version, might add it there.

The upcoming Yakuza Kiwami 2 collector's edition by LRG will include a soundtrack, I don't know if it will be the one that has select tracks from Kiwami 1 and 2 or a new one, also it seems to have only one disc. I might make a Kiwami 2 B-Sides if that's the case.

Happy Pirate Yakuza release day!
I'm a bit behind in the Yakuza series, I still haven't played Ishin or infinite Wealth, but you can expect B-Sides of these games eventually.
