Children are welcome to wear PE kit all week to take part in daily active tasks to celebrate Health Week 🍎 🏃🏽♂️➡️
A reminder we are off on ‼️Monday 7th September‼️ but next week, from Tuesday - Friday, we will be celebrating Children’s Health Week Scotland.
Pupils will be taking part in various activities through the week so can wear their P.E. bottoms and shoes every day 👟

Today we followed the steps to create our own mummy! First we had to hook the brain and remove it, then put the other organs in canopic jars. Next we dried the bodies with salt and spices. Then we wrapped the body in linen strips. Finally we added a death mask and put them into their sarcophagus! 🐫⚱️

Yesterday we learned about the Scottish scientists Alexander Fleming and how he accidentally discovered the antibiotic penicillin 🦠 🧫 We swabbed different areas of the classroom and are going to observe the amount of bacteria that grows in our samples.

Odd Socks Day marks the start of Anti-Bullying Week. Odd Socks Day 2025 is taking place on Monday 10th November. Children can wear odd socks to express themselves and celebrate their individuality and what makes us all unique! There is no cost to take part in this.

And lastly we enjoyed chopping up our own fruit using the bridge technique to assemble our own yogurt cups! We finished today with the lovely news that we were assembly class of the week again and had an extra playtime! 🍓🥏🏓

Next we started our new topic about significant individuals in science and technology by learning about Isaac Newton and how he discovered gravity! We then learned about “drag” and made parachutes to try slow down the speed our cups would be pulled down to the ground! 🪂
