the idea was born over a decade ago while working on book 5 of sunstone. back then i knew i was in that story for the long run and lisa the aspiring novelist was going to publish a novel before sunstone 20 was completed
today that idea will launch as a kickstarter for a richly illustrated novel.

For perspective, getting a free anime episode was the equivalent of finding a $20 bill on the sidewalk. Two episodes of FLCL on DVD was $29.95 (PUS Tax) at this time, & I swear to you the total was around $40 at certain stores. A few years later torrents became widely available & it all crashed.

Thinking about how Newtype Magazine giving out free DVDs of anime lead me here. Getting an episode of Kino's Journey at Barnes & Nobel really changed my brain chemistry. Oh I knew what anime WAS (how could you not by the time DBZ & Pokemon Dropped), but the 2002-2007 anime boom was something else.
