Alright, new idea. Bulldoze all of Somerville (pop. density 19,653.3/sq mi) and build out Assembly Square like the whole city is Boston’s Eixample (pop. density 92,400/sq mi). Is the Cerdà Plan a good compromise?
The controversial plan to build a 500-unit tower stretching as high as 26 stories in Somerville’s Davis Square is not proceeding, according to the firm that pitched it.

TL;DR: Dorchester is a coastal neighborhood, and the Morrissey Bvd plan must reflect that. Raising the road won’t fix the real issues: residents need safe routes, real waterfront access, & public spaces that work. If we rebuild this corridor, it should solve more than flooding & actually be useful.
Opinion— Kevin Deabler, co-founder of RODE Architects, says we need to think about much more than traffic when designing Dorchester's infrastructure of the future, particularly along the coast.

An apartment isn’t a commercial space. It’s a home that the councilor arbitrarily is making more expensive by increasing property taxes. He’s further hollowing out Boston’s middle class.

I love how the new season of The Morning Show consistently has doing the right thing and speaking the truth bumping up against capitalism and individual ambition.
