New version of CD Changer is out! You can say "Hey Siri, play disc 1 in CD Changer" and it plays! Took a few rounds of standing in the driveway talking to my phone to get there. The dev log is in the post.

Why the CarPlay artist list makes you pick a letter first instead of just listing every artist: CPListTemplate.maximumItemCount counts across every section combined, and if you go over it the list quietly drops the rest.

Spent a whole afternoon on a row of album art in CarPlay that kept clipping to one line, and it turns out the API got reworked in iOS 26 and I was still passing allowsMultipleLines: false. One word! Ughh.

Albums picked and loaded before I left the driveway. That's the app - you pick the disc and it plays instantly and nothing recommends you anything.

CD Changer 1.3 is out! Now with an Artists tab in CarPlay so you can finally get at stuff you forgot to load into a magazine. But the bit I'm happiest about is the album art that stops going gray. That one drove me nuts.
